The Botswana Telecommunications Corporation (BTC) is taking its 40th anniversary to another level this time a Digital Business Summit is on the cards. The inaugural summit is aptly named “Digital Shift and Technology Summit.” The event runs from 8 – 9 July in Gaborone.
Speaking on summit platform in a welcome message the BTC CEO Anthony Masunga said of the summit: “This is where advances in game-changing technologies will be brought to life for you, through real-world case studies, discovery and technical exploration, interactive sessions and visionary thought leadership.
”The summit is geared at demonstrating BTC’s suite of products and services along with the thinking that empower Botswana’s public and private sector ecosystems with practical and actionable knowledge about digital solutions across industry sectors. “We are extremely excited about this Summit. What we have in store will allow a business to connect the dots and combine their own unique strategies with digital insight and engineering to figure out how to make trailblazing digital shifts to the future.
He added that with the rise of an information society, Big Data, Virtualisation, Robotics, IoT and smart things, “as BTC, we are truly privileged to set the next value frontiers of tomorrow’s generation. Through the Digital Shift BW, we will demonstrate our commitment and capability to be your digital partner as we transition to a knowledge-based economy.
Through it we hope to turbocharge the growth and development of our country and encourage a full embrace of digital transformation”. The summit, which is part of the ongoing [email protected] Celebrations, is an international event meant to demonstrate BTC’s capabilities and readiness in the era of the 4IR as we RESET and REALIGN to increase Botswana’s competitiveness in global markets.
The Summit will allow participants to engage with one another and directly with BTC and partner engineers and thought leaders to leverage technology and understand future trends fully.
