Nigeria’s Association of Telecommunications Companies of Nigeria (ATCON) has called for an achievable target to be set for ICT penetration over the next five years.
New ATCON President Lanre Ajayi has called on the government to set achievable policies and strategies for computer and broadband penetration.
Highlighting ATCOM’s hopes to see 50% broadband penetration in five years, Ajayi said incentives should be made available to telcos, to boost network rollout into underserved areas.
ATCON has also lamented Nigeria’s erratic power supplies, saying this threatens further ICT development.
