VMware Forum South Africa scheduled for 12 June

VMware South Africa, a division of the global leader in virtualisation and cloud infrastructure, has announced that it will once again be hosting its popular VMware Forum.

The event is touted as the single biggest collection of cloud and virtualisation individuals in South Africa and will this year be hosted at Gallagher Estate, Midrand, Johannesburg on 12 June 2013. The theme of this year’s event is “Virtually Unlimited” and will provide attendees a snapshot into the future of the VMware cloud and virtualisation technologies and offerings.

“With renewed focus on the adoption of cloud and virtualisation technologies in South Africa, VMware Forum 2013 will provide our customers, resellers, distributors and vendor partners a platform by which to network, engage and share ideas,” states Chris Norton, regional director, southern Africa at VMware.

The event will offer attendees access to a series of keynotes and business-focused breakout sessions, as well as afford them the opportunity to learn how VMware, together with its key partners, are delivering cloud infrastructures that reduce IT complexity, improve security and accelerate how applications are built, deployed and run across an organisation.

Highlights of the event will include sessions and case studies that will cover: the productivity that mobile and collaborative users get out of a truly-integrated multi-device workspace; the agility derived from a Software Defined Data Centre - in which virtualisation spans across compute, storage, network and security; and the operating cost reductions from automating cloud operations and service provisioning.

In addition to which other focus areas will include the quality of services and business continuity that VMware customers achieve when virtualising key applications like SAP as well as what makes VMware unique with its move to integrated suites such as the vCloud and Horizon Suites.

According to Norton, the VMware Forum provides the much needed answers IT professionals need when looking to simplify and transform their IT through the adoption of cloud and virtualisation technologies across their IT infrastructure, data centre, desktop computing, business continuity and cloud computing strategies.

The event runs over one day and is free of charge to customers and attendees, for more information or to register please visit
