One of the major challenges facing ERP solution providers today is the implementation of an ERP solution in a predefined timeframe and within the initial budget expectations, says Keith Fenner, Vice President of Sales for Africa, Softline Accpac and Sage MMD Africa. 

 “In order to meet this challenge, Sage has launched Sage ERP X3 Standard Edition that offers the same fully functional ERP suite but includes a predefined implementation framework that is designed for the African business,” says Fenner.  With Standard Edition, Sage ERP X3 delivers a feature-packed solution that is easier to use and faster to implement, thus reducing the overall cost of ownership.  The aim is to help accelerate the deployment of the ERP solution in smaller businesses with less than 50 concurrent users. 

Sage ERP X3 Standard Edition provides a predefined, yet adaptable, implementation framework to customers interested in deploying the solution in a reduced timeframe, with standard business requirements and processes.  These processes are mapped to a set of questionnaires that enable projects to be implemented within 50 days.  Governed by the Project Quality Plan (PQP), it ensures all the right steps are taken to monitor and manage the project from start to finish.

“Standard Edition benefits from pre-set parameters, as well as predefined user roles and process flows, designed to help accelerate the deployment of the solution in smaller businesses that have standard distribution or manufacturing processes,” explains Fenner.

Sage ERP X3 Standard Edition is aimed at the growing business that requires a cost effective ERP solution at present.  “Standard Edition has nothing removed from it.  The full core functionality of Sage ERP X3 is available, but is implemented using only the predefined methodology.  It does however offer a client the option to expand and enhance their ERP solution as the company grows by simply tapping into the existing features of Sage ERP X3, using minimal IT resources,” says Fenner.

 “The main goals of Standard Edition are to reduce implementation costs and timeframes, ease the learning curve, increase efficiency, provide project visibility and ensure commitments are met by our ERP solution providers,” concludes Fenner.
