MTN Business presents the first Supplier Development Programme workshop to Gauteng entrepreneurs
MTN Business conducted the first Supplier Development Programme (SDP) and Accelerator Programme (AP) workshop at its headquarters in Johannesburg. The two-day workshop was delivered to entrepreneurs by Dr M.K Angajan who is renowned for his self-mastery and philosophical studies.
Dr Angajan delivered a series of lectures on the science of self-development, principles of productivity, impediments to peak performance, emotional quotient and the power of positive mental performance to participating entrepreneurs from Gauteng and who operate within the ICT space.
The workshop is part of MTN Business’ three-year intervention that seeks to enable economic inclusion by empowering young, black entrepreneurs to take their place at the forefront of South Africa’s evolution to a knowledge-based economy.
Through the MTN Business SDP and AP initiatives, over 35 small ICT businesses will be developed through programmes that will take them from the start-up phase to fully self-sufficient status.
“This is our first workshop and it is important that these entrepreneurs are well prepared mentally before we get deeper into various programme,” said David Mphelo, General Manager for Public Sector at MTN Business South Africa.
“We are very pleased to partner with Dr M.K Angajan – through New Generation Mindset (NGM) – on the delivery of the workshop as he brings the local and international expertise that will give these entrepreneurs the requisite tools they can use so that they can play a meaningful role in make a meaningful contribution in the mainstream economy,” said Mphelo.
“Our programmes are aligned with the National Development Plan’s goals of addressing poverty alleviation and fostering real empowerment by creating a new class of young, black entrepreneurs. These programmes supports our strategic intent of creating sustainable value for our stakeholders as good corporate citizenship is key, as well asdriving sustainable growth and developing new opportunities to ensure the delivery of a bold new digital world,” he concluded.
NGM will support MTN Business throughout by nurturing skills, delivering training and mentorship.
