Emergency help only a call away for speech and hearing impaired MTN customers
MTN has partnered with Europ Assistance SA to offer a free call back facility to MTN customers with hearing and speech impairments.
Access to critical lifeline support can mean a difference between life and death especially for persons living with disabilities. The MTN USSD service enables customers with speech and hearing disabilities to contact the 112 emergency line without the need to speak to an operator. This free service provides immediate emergency access to medical, police, fire and sea rescue services.
MTN customers who request emergency services assistance should save and dial *130*3272*29# on their phones and select the service option they require. An SMS will then be disseminated to the MTN 112 Emergency Contact Centre who will communicate the requested emergency to the relevant service provider.
A confirmation SMS will be sent to the customer verifying their request and notify them of the estimated time of resolution.
