Zim ISP prepares to launch 4G
Zimbabwe’s Aptics will launch its commercial 4G and VoIP services in the next few weeks.
Aptics’ network is already live in Harare, Chitungwiza, Norton, Bulawayo, Mutare, Masvingo and will shortly be in Chinhoyi, Victoria Falls and Kariba, and the company is now preparing to go to market with 4G services.
Licensed two years ago, Aptics plans to launch 4G services with full coverage of Harare and around 70% of Bulawayo initially, but it will go live with most areas in the coming weeks. The company says it is now reaching interconnection agreements with Zimbabwe’s operators.
Aptics partnered with Airspan Networks last year to build its 4G network, saying it aimed to offer a variety of data and voice packages.
