Zeepay and Visa partner to bring more digital payment options to Ghanains
Zeepay in Ghana has announced that it has partnered with Visa in an arrangement that will see customers of Zeepay in Ghana enjoy receiving money remittances directly on their hand-held devices from relatives and friends in the diaspora.
Under the new partnership, Zeepay will integrate its money transfer platform Instntmny, with Visa’s real-time push payments solution Visa Direct. This intergration will provide users of the Zeepay app a fast, convenient and secure way to receive money and remittances directly into their eligible card.
According to Dede Quarshie, the chief commercial officer at Zeepay, the integration will significantly expand Zeepay and Visa’s reach and ability to open up commerce to Ghana. The service, which is will be available to over two million Visa card holders in Ghana, will further deepen the drive for financial inclusion across Ghana and Africa at large.
Quarshie further noted that the strategy of the current partnership is to present the consumer with various options for receiving remittances from abroad including Visa debit and prepaid cards, mobile money wallets, money at ATMs and bank accounts. Our omni-channel approach makes Zeepay the preferred partner for the remittance payout, she says.

Visa Ghana Country Manager, Adoma Peprah notes that for the past decade, Ghanaians have adopted a mobile-led, digital payments ecosystem and Visa’s objective in the region has been to accelerate the distribution of payment credentials and expand the acceptance space for digital payments.
