WIOCC appoints new Sales Director
Highly-experienced senior telecoms professional Nikki Popoola has joined WIOCC as Director – Sales, where she will be helping international carriers procure simple solutions to their complex connectivity challenges into and within Africa.
Commenting on the latest addition to the WIOCC team, WIOCC CEO Chris Wood said: “Nikki has invaluable breadth of experience working with international carriers wanting to establish and grow their presence within Africa. Her skills and expertise, combined with WIOCC’s service excellence and award-winning network, make Nikki extremely well equipped to help international carriers and ISPs meet ever-increasing demands for reliable, affordable, high-speed international connectivity into and within Africa”.
Popoola has been in the telecoms industry for almost 20 years and joined WIOCC after seven years with Tata Communications, where she sold a wide range of services across numerous countries in Africa. She also held managerial roles at Gateway Communications, where she established multiple interconnects with organisations such as Safaricom and Ethiopia Telecoms; and Cable & Wireless, for whom she sold services in sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East.
A passionate problem-solver, Popoola added: “I am relishing the opportunity to assist international carriers and ISPs in overcoming complex international connectivity challenges; working with them to develop bespoke, high-availability solutions that not only meet their current needs, but also have the flexibility and scale to meet their projected future requirements too”.
