WACS puts Togo rates into ‘freefall’
Togo Telecom is cutting its internet rates following the arrival of the WACS undersea cable.
Togo Telecom says it is keeping its promise to pass on the benefits to customers following the arrival of the WACS cable on 22 May, when CEO Sam Bikassam said price cuts and improved service quality would be delivered in the weeks to come.
The incumbent operator first increased capacity in packages to its fixed internet subscribers, and has now announced rates cuts on its mobile internet packages.
Togo Telecom Helim fixed line subscribers have all had their data bundles doubled at no extra cost. Helim Nomad mobile internet users now pay less for data, depending on the bundle they select, and can also buy access packages for between 2 and 20 days.
