Vodafone to compensate customers for failure

Customers of Vodafone Enterprise will by the end of this month be compensated with a discount on their bills as part of Vodafone Ghana’s measures to compensate majority of its customers who got affected during its network failure on 3 June this year.

In a statement available to Biztechafrica this morning, it noted that Vodafone has identified an electrical surge as the cause of it outage which resulted in 6 boards in 3 of its routers not responding correctly.

According to the statement, Vodafone said it has not only replaced these six boards but taken additional steps which will improve further the reliability of it network in the future but has also undertaking a detailed Technology and Power audit to ensure the future strength of Vodafone network in the country

Chief Executive Officer for Vodafone Ghana, Haris Broumidis, said the systems have been performing well since the remedial steps were introduced. “We have conducted several network performance test, which show the network experience is back to normal and we are also pleased to report that our network traffic rapidly recovered to the levels we observed before the incident.”

He said: "Vodafone thanks its customers for understanding and loyalty. We continue to be fully committed to providing all of you with the best service and a great network experience. We have invested $ 700 million Dollars in our network since 2009 to meet the communication needs of our customers and we will continue to do so in the future to ensure they enjoy the best services."
