Tanzania is preparing to shut down analogue broadcasting services by the end of this year.
According to the Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA), after the end of this year Tanzania will deliver full digital broadcasting services across the country.
In order to ensure planned goal is met, broadcasting stakeholders have been urged to finalise their preparations and shut down their analogue broadcasting as directed by the government.
The main challenges remain to the broadcasting stakeholders who have to ensure they provide universal services to the people and reach the whole country.
The Government of Tanzania says it recognises the potential of the digital broadcasting services and has taken positive steps to put in place suitable environment to help it thrive.
