Space storm disrupts comms

The impacts of the biggest solar flares in six years are reported to be causing interference in satellite-based communications around the world.

The space storm’s geomagnetic effects can cause high frequency radio blackouts, and could affect power grids, GPS and satellite communications, said US space agency NASA.

The effects of the storm are expected to last until Friday.
