Rwanda to host cyber security workshop
Rwanda will host a one-day gathering of ICT security experts to discuss improved cyber security in banking next month.
The Banking and Cyber Security Workshop will be held on 23 March at the Serena Hotel in Kigali.
The organisers report that Africa’s banks have been seeing a surge in banking fraud. In a recent survey conducted among banks in Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania and Zambia, the banks noted that threats like hacking, malicious insiders, card skimming, electronic files manipulation, IT controls circumvention, unauthorized penetration and careless employees have surged.
The workshop is designed to help all players in the financial services market, Government agencies and other organizations to identify and combat ICT-based security risks.
