Orange targets home and enterprise Internet users with new Dual Play service
Orange has launched a Dual Play solution, a voice and data service offering on the fixed line numbering plan targeting the home and small medium enterprise markets (SME).
The Dual Play service is an addition to the existing Home Talk and Biashara Talk services. It is available on both Post-paid and Pre-paid options as Biashara Talk Dual Play (postpaid option) and Home Talk Dual Play (prepaid option). Both post-paid and pre-paid options are being offered on a single subscription package to the voice and unlimited data service.
Biashara Talk Dual Play is available to post-paid customers offering unlimited data with a Fair Usage Policy (FUP) of 50GB, and 10 hours talk time while pre-paid customers on the Home Talk Dual Play service will also enjoy unlimited data with a Fair Usage Policy (FUP) of 50GB with eight hours talk time. A customer will be able to subscribe to the monthly bundle offer at KShs.4,000.
The talk time allows for local calls (for both on-net and off-net calls), international calls to the USA, UK, Canada, India and China and international SMSs to all destinations.
Company Chief Corporate Communications Officer, George Mlaghui, says that this new service goes to demonstrate the company’s dedication to constantly tailor its products and solutions with the customer in mind and aim to deliver more value, flexibility and satisfaction to its existing customers as well as present a sound and exciting proposition that will attract new customers.
“We also forecast more uptake in the home and office Internet market segments, due to the technical advantages and cost efficiencies presented by fibre optics,” says Mlaghui, adding that the expansion of Orange’s 3G network, to more than 80 locations and urban centres across the country, has seen its customers get to enjoy faster Internet speeds.
Customers will be able to access voice services, through a desktop telephone and data, through an Orange Flybox router, thereby allowing the customer to have one billing account. Subscribers will be able to check their consumption (for both voice and data) using the USSD code *222#. The bundle will be valid for 30 days, after which a customer will forfeit any unused voice and data bundles.
