NITA Boss declared ICT Professional of the Year - Public Sector
The Director General of the National Information Technology Agency (NITA), Richard Okyere-Fosu has being declared the “ICT Professional of the Year-Public Sector” at the just ended 10th edition of the Ghana Information Technology and Telecom (GITTA) Awards.
The event was held today at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel, in Accra, Ghana.
Following his appointment during the early part of 2020, Okyere-Fosu helped NITA to create an enabling environment for effective deployment and use of ICT by all sectors of Ghana’s economy.
The new DG introduced outstanding innovative initiatives including the recent Registering and Certifying of IT Professionals and Companies operating in the Country as part of efforts to fully enforce the application of Standards in the adoption, deployment, configuration and implementation of ICT in both public and private sector to enhance usage, access and security.
Upon receiving the award, Okyere-Fosu dedicated the award to his hard-working team at NITA, and thanked them for making the achievement possible.
“Without their hard work, enthusiasm and positive attitudes towards work, we could not have achieved anything that would be worth this recognition.” he said, NITA as an institution also won an award for “Excellence in ICT Regulation” at the same event.
NITA is the Government of Ghana’s agency mandated with the primary objective to regulate the provision of ICT, ensuring the provision of quality ICT, promoting standards of efficiency and ensuring high quality of service.
