New IP services from Main One
Nigerian cable company Main One has launched two new IP services.
Main One said in a statement that its Global IP Transit is targeted at large service providers and operators and Global IP Internet Access is targeted at partners, institutions and organizations.
The two services enable customers to be connected to a Tier One provider and ensure that they receive optimum routes for traffic globally.
In addition, with its IP-NGN platform, traffic can be switched locally, thereby expediting internet transactions, while latency is significantly improved for customers connected to Main One.
Recent tests had showed a significant difference of about 100 milliseconds in latency compared to traffic routed outside Nigeria, the company said.
Main One’s Head of Marketing and Strategy, Adebayo Oyewole, said the new services were designed to spur business growth among organisations with specific bandwidth needs.
