Namibia to launch free internet for schools
Namibian schools, tertiary institutions and health centres will receive free internet from next month.
In terms of a USD37.5 million access project, the government aims to roll out free internet access to institutions of higher learning, vocational training centres, state schools and health centres in a phased approach starting 15 May.
However, the Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Joël Kaapanda, notes that the process may be hampered in some areas where there is a lack of electricity or computing equipment.
