MTN Group President briefs Cameroon staff

MTN Group President Sifiso Dabengwa has addressed MTN Cameroon on the last leg of an Executive Roadshow to share the organization’s new vision and mission, as well as its strategy pillars.

Thanks to the state-of-the-art technology set up by MTN Cameroon one year ago, MTNers in all regions of the country followed the Group President and CEO’s conversation, live from the videoconference halls and remotely on their computers. For close to one hour, a very engaged Group President and CEO, unpacked the MTN Group vision To lead the delivery of a bold, new Digital World to our customers”, and its mission “To make our customers’ lives a whole lot brighter.”

 

The Group President and CEO called on staff to be at the forefront of the provision of a bold, new digital world full of hi-tech solutions tailored to respond to MTN customers’ ever increasing needs for a memorable customer experience.

These words were reiterated by the Group Chief Operating Executive (GCOE) Ahmad Farouk who, specified the 5 pillars that will help MTN to execute its vision. They are:

Creating and Manage Stakeholder Value: By creating value for its shareholders, employees and communities in a sustainable way and in accordance with the values and ethics of MTN.

Creating a Distinct Customer Experience: By providing a unique MTN branded user experience that is based on knowing and segmenting its customers.

Driving Sustainable Growth: By driving growth in voice while developing new opportunities in data, enterprise and other opportunistic sectors as its markets mature.

Transforming our Operating Model: By allowing its front office functions to be more customer focused through more responsive, supportive and efficient back office functions.

Innovation and Best Practice: By operating under the principle of innovation in everything they do and looking for opportunities to share and apply best practices.

The conversation ended with a Q&A session and a call for more engagement, performance excellence, creativity and the adoption of the four vital behaviours of a model employee to ensure that MTN Cameroon meets its strategic objectives in a sustainable manner. In conclusion, the CEO of MTN Cameroon, Karl Toriola, re-emphasized the satisfaction of employees who were happy with the opportunity to engage with MTN Group Management which marked the second annual  visit by the Group President and CEO to the country.

Incorporated in Cameroon since February 2000 following the acquisition of CAMTEL Mobile, MTN Cameroon is the leader in the Cameroon telecommunications market, and amongst the 5 most significant enterprises in the country. As of 31 December 2012, MTN has 7.3 million subscribers.
