The National Communications Authority (NCA) has declared MTN Ghana as winner in the auction process for one frequency spectrum lot in the 800 MHz band spectrum for mobile services.
In a statement issued on the official website of the regulator, the NCA said this was the result of the process which begun early this year in May.
Four companies submitted applications, however, three companies were unsuccessful in their efforts.
According to the statement the transparent process which was conducted under high security was overseen and managed by an independent auctioneer, KPMG.
“Scancom Limited have been provisionally awarded one lot of 2x10MHz in the 800 MHz Band, pending their fulfilment of other requirements. NCA will in due course take a decision on the other unallocated block,” it added.
It then expressed it appreciation to all applicants and other stakeholders for their interest and support during this process.
