MTN Ghana has disclosed that it had rolled out 46 out of its 197 4G sites earmarked for this year as part of the company’s continues investment into supporting 4G services in the country. According to the leading network provider in Ghana, its commitment of investing an additional US$ 143 million into the network this year is also on course.
Speaking during the official launch of Huawei P10 handset device in Accra, the General Manager for Consumer Marketing, Noel Ganson acknowledged the speed 4G service comes with, and noted that MTN as a service provider that understands customer satisfaction at all level of consumer engagement “deems it important to delight the customer and ensure there are enough and affordable devices in the market which Ghanaians can afford.”
Citing the reason behind MTN Ghana’s partnership with Huawei to introduce many smartphones onto the Ghanaian market, Mr. Ganson revealed that after acquiring the 4G license, it was realised that most customers don’t have enabled handsets devices that would allow them to enjoy 4G services, hence the need for MTN to connect and partner with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) including Huawei to support MTN’s digital agenda.
“We have seen a lot of interest being shown in the phone and there is an indication that our customers really need the 4G enabled handsets. Through this partnership, MTN is once again partnering Huawei to launch P10 into the market. Most importantly we want users to have a good experience with this phone,” he said.
The Country Director for Huawei Device Ghana, Robin Sun, said the all new Huawei P10 sets an industry benchmark for style and craftsmanship with the first hyper diamond-cut finishing on a smartphone, which adds strength and colour and as a consumer-oriented brand, the Huawei P10 is also available in high gloss and sandblast finishing.
“In today’s fast paced business world, business leaders, some of whom new have here in our midst would agree with me when I say that an ideal smartphone should be one that offers a lighting speed performance as well as a long lasting battery that requires minimum charging time to meet their busy schedules. The device should provide that sleek and stylish premium design to compliment their professional look. I am pleased to say that, the all-new Huawei P10 offers all that and even more,” he stated.
He then expressed his outfit’s excitement at partnering MTN Ghana to offer Ghanaians the best smartphone experience.
