MTN Cameroon appoints CMO

The Chief Executive Officer of MTN Cameroon, Mr. Karl O. Toriola, has announced the appointment of Mrs. Linda Kouam Kamche to the position of Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of MTN Cameroon.

In her capacity as CMO, Linda Kouam Kamche will be responsible for providing strategic direction and for ensuring brand development, revenue generation and sustainability. She will also be expected to enhance the growth of MTN Cameroon’s leading customer service organization through consistent focus on activities and behaviors which influence a positive customer experience and overall improvement of business performance.

Mrs. Kouam Kamche, 35 years old, is holder of a Telecommunications Engineering Degree from the Technical University Carolo-Wilhelmina at Braunschweig in Germany. She joined MTN Cameroon in 2006 and has since set a strong track record for driving revenue growth, brand affinity and market share growth. Prior to her appointment, Mrs. Kouam Kamche was the Senior Manager for Products and Services.

This appointment demonstrates MTN’s commitment to promote local talent into more senior positions. So far, MTN Cameroon has implemented arguably the most successful policy of nationalization of its senior executive positions and continues to pride itself in the development of local talent into world-class executives. The appointment of Linda KOUAM to this very senior management position from within the organization attests to this, as well as to the success of MTN Cameroon’s equitable employee development program. Today, only 3 employees of MTN Cameroon are non-locals, with over 7 Cameroonians working abroad on senior expatriate assignments within the MTN Group.

Mrs Kouam Kamche’s appointment is effective from January 1, 2015.
