Mteto Nyati, Altron Group CEO, wins EY World Entreprenuer Award Southern Africa
Southern Africa’s leading entrepreneurs from Altron, Spear Riet and Lionshare Holdings shrugged off the steep challenges of COVID to win awards at the EY World Entrepreneur Award™ Southern Africa on 26 March 2021.

Finalists are selected from amongst entrepreneurs who have demonstrated excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as entrepreneurial spirit, value creation, strategic direction, impact, innovation and purpose-driven leadership. They include traditional entrepreneurs who are founders and leaders of high-growth companies.
The winners are Mteto Nyati, Altron Group Chief Executive in the ‘Influence’ category; Abu Varachhia, Spear Riet Chairman and Founder in the ‘Inspire’ category and Ike Chalumbira, CEO, Lionshare Holdings in the ‘Ignite’ category.
Mteto Nyati, as the ‘Influence’ winner will join finalists from over 45 countries to compete for the title of 2021 EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year™ award in June this year.
Author and businessman, Mteto Nyati, is the Group Chief Executive of Altron has enabled dramatic transformation of Altron, a South Africa-based ICT company, into a world-class information and communications technology organisation. For his contributions, he was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence in Management in 2020 and Business Leader of the Year in 2019.

Ike Chalumbira, CEO and Founder of Lionshare Holdings is a focused, highly principled and value-adding leader. Ike’s determination grew Lionshare into a diversified investment private equity organisation. He envisions driving five to ten years of Africa-centric forward-looking investments.
