Chinese funds for Tanzania
China has signed agreements on aid packages totaling around USD95 million during a visit to Tanzania.
Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce Jiang Yaoping, who visited Tanzania for the China-Tanzania Joint Economic and Trade Commission, signed the agreements with Tanzanian Finance Minster Mustafa Mkulo.
The aid will include loans for telecoms network construction and transportation.
Mkulo gave the assurance that Tanzania was committed to improving the climate for foreign investors.
Earlier, the he East African Community (EAC) called on China to invest more in the region.
