Microsoft Lumia Ghana, dealers of the Nokia Lumia phone brand in the Ghanaian market, has introduced what it calls the ‘Make it Happen’ promotions geared at giving an opportunity to prospective customers to win a dream holiday to Singapore through the purchase of any Lumia devices. This means that consumers will have to purchase any of these Lumia devices 530, 630,535,730,830 and 930 to stand the chance of winning the free trip to the Asian country.
Explaining how one could get into the promotion to Biztechafrica at the plush Movinpic Hotel in Accra, the Business Manager in charge of Microsoft Mobile Devices Group in Ghana, Kola Osinawo, mentioned that consumers after purchasing their Lumia device can take a selfie and upload it to Microsoft Lumia Ghana Home page on Facebook and attach # MakeItHappen space IMEI number of the phones space and #Ghana and post it to Lumia Ghana Facebook page. The top three selfies will be selected and with their loved ones win an all expenses paid trip to Singapore.
The Make It Happen Promotion, which runs till the 31st of December 2014, will have weekly giveaways of 5 units of Lumia 530 devices and these will be presented by the General Manager of Midcom and renowned Ghanaian Actress Juliet Ibrahim.
As part of the promotion there will be ongoing activations at the various malls in the country to offer prizes to winners.
Mr. Osinawo said the introduction of the promotion is to thank the Ghanaian consumers for the loyalty to the Lumia brand. “The whole idea behind Make it Happen campaign is all about saying thank you to all Lumia funs in Ghana. Over the last couple of years, we have been driving and pushing the windows phones ecosystem as an alternative to other ecosystems out there. For Microsoft, it’s not about competition, it’s about empowering people and also making people more productive and that’s the overall vision and goal of Microsoft. We want to be the platform and productive company,” he noted.
With Ghana becoming one of the fastest growing smart phone markets in Sub Saharan Africa, where lots of consumers are moving from feature phones to smart phones, Microsoft believes that the Windows phone platform which the Lumia device provides will make consumers more productive.
