ICTs to be rolled out to Huambo schools
Angola’s Huambo province plans to accelerate the roll-out of ICT labs to schools across the province.
The provincial director of Education, Science and Technology, Manuel Sampaio do Amaral, acknowledged that while ICT plays an important role in delivering education, few public schools have ICT facilities and internet access.
In many cases, schools have computer rooms but no internet access.
The province will begin its ICT in schools project with a focus on the 7th, 8th and 9th grade, as well as high schools and universities, he said.
