High-tech multimedia library for Angola’s Bie province
The Angolan government is set to invest about eight hundred million kwanza in building a high-tech media library in Bie province.
The Secretary of State for Information Technology, Pedro Sebastião Teta, made the announcement during a visit to the region.
His department said the library would be built adjacent to medium commercial and industrial institutes and schools of the first cycle Manguxi in Kuito district. It is expected to open in November 2014.
Connected with 300 kilometers of fiber optic cable, the library will serve mainly students in the area, in line with the government’s goal of social and digital inclusion.
The Mediatheque Bie will also serve the local business community.
