Hello Paisa clinches top African Fintech spot at Innotribe Start-up challenge
Low cost international money transfer company Hello Paisa was named the number one Fintech Company in Africa in Mauritius this week, during the SWIFT African Regional Conference which attracted up to 500 delegates from around the world.
Hello Paisa will now form part of a delegation along with two other finalists to Sibos — SWIFT’s annual global financial services conference in Geneva, Switzerland this year September. The Innotribe Start-Up Challenge Africa creates a platform for leading local and global organisations to support the evolving fintech space, and has been successful in showcasing innovative ideas across all spectrums.
“Hello Paisa is honoured to be acknowledged for its involvement in driving positive change in the industry at large. To be placed alongside best of breed global businesses that have led transformation all over the world is a great tribute and a strong validation of our continued dedication to putting Africa and more importantly African technology on the map,” says Hello Paisa Managing Director, Ahmed Cassim.
Cassim reiterated that the group was proud to be acknowledged for efforts in advancing in the fintech arena. The Innotribe platform was a great opportunity for Hello Group to knowledge share on areas that will catapult this industry to the next level.
Hello Paisa launched in March 2015 as the first mobile remittance solution in South Africa and has grown its offering considerably now servicing individuals from Zimbabwe, Malawi, Nigeria, Kenya, India and Pakistan and Bangladesh.
