Girls in Tech launches in Egypt
Girls in Tech, an international organisation promoting the role of women in technology, has opened a chapter in Egypt.
Girls in Tech was initially founded in San Francisco in 2007. Since then, it has grown to over 8,500 members worldwide. There are local chapters across the globe, in countries like China, Greece, France, the US, Chile and more.
Girls in Tech Egypt says it seeks to empower women in technology by simply providing them with more visibility. The group will host mini tech conferences and meet-ups where a majority of the speakers will be women.
