By Nana Appiah Acquaye, Accra, Ghana
The Chief of Staff at the Ghana’s presidency the Flagstaff House, Mr Julius Debrah, has appointed the Ministry of Communications to take over all communications at the Flagstaff House with immediate effect.
According to an official communiqué signed by the Minister of Communications, Dr Edward Omane Boamah and available to Biztechafrica indicates that the Ministry of Communications assumes responsibility for the Flagstaff House Communications Bureau.
The statement further noted that Mr. Francis Kwarteng Arthur has been relieved of his duties as Acting Director of the Information Service Department.
These developments within the government communications machinery is as a result of grammatical errors and misrepresentation of historical facts about Ghana made in the official event brochures for the celebration of Ghana’s 59th Anniversary Celebrations held at the historic Independence Square and attended by foreign dignitaries including the President of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta among others.
These unfortunate incidents generated a huge public outcry especially on social media platforms with many demanding the resignation of minster of communications, senior officials at the Information Service Department (ISD), a department under the communications ministry and the Head of Flagstaff House Communication, Stan Xoese Dogbe.
