Ghana polytechnic takes admissions online
Ghana’ s Takoradi Polytechnic has launched what it describes as the first online automated admission process in the country.
The institution says prospective candidates applying for admission into Takoradi Polytechnic during the 2011/12 academic year will have to do so online at www.tpoly.edu.gh.
It says the move puts it into the league of tertiary institutions in the country which are deploying ICT platforms in their administration processes for ease of governance and spur interest in on-line educational resources among their students for enhanced performance.
It expects its new electronic admission system, which is linked to the West African Examinations Council’ s database, to simplify the admissions process and reduce errors often associated with manual admission procedures.
The system will also track students’ progress, logging their records and results until they complete their studies.
