Ghana penetration doubles
Main One reports that Ghana’s internet penetration has virtually doubled in the two years since the cable landed there.
Main One Ghana Country manager Joseph Odoi told a customer briefing in Accra that internet penetration had increased from 5.2% in 2010 to 10% in 2011, thanks to the efforts of MainOne and its ISP partners operating in the country.
“The internet has come of age in Ghana,” he said.
The President of the Ghana Internet Services Providers Association, Ernest Brown, said: “Main One is doing a good job in terms of costumer connectivity. They ensure that they engage us at least once every month to address our challenges.”
Another ISP partner, BusyInternet MD Praveen Sadalage, noted that Main One’s entry into the market had marked a revolution in internet penetrationand changed the dynamics of the industry.
