Ghana to introduce New NHIS Mobile Renewal and Digital Authentication policy

Ghanaians across the country will soon be able to access their National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) policy using their mobile handset devices come 2019.
The New NHIS Mobile Renewal and Digital Authentication policy which is schedule to be launched by President Nana Akufo Addo in Accra during the first quarter of next year is expected to afford subscribers the opportunity to renew their Health Insurance policy on their mobile phones when it becomes outdated.
Officials of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) believes that the new policy when introduced will provide subscribers with easy and convenient access to the policy and thus help reduce congestion that normally turns to characterize it.
With the existence of the new policy registered NHIS users to be notified ahead of expiry dates in order to deal with the uncertainties that members may encounter and also prevent the situation where others are denied access to medical care in hospitals due to notification of expiry at the point of claim
At the comfort of their homes and during their own convenience customers of the yet to be launched new policy can renew their policy and pay for the service through mobile money.
