Ghana eCommerce Awards to promote high standards and best practices

The first ever Ghana eCommerce Awards is expected to raise standards and create healthy competition among our online businesses in Ghana.
The much anticipated event which is slated for the 30th of November, 2018 at the plush Swiss Alisa Hotel in Accra will be celebrating and rewarding individuals and companies who have excel and show innovation in Ghana’s online business space.
Although the Ghana eCommerce Awards is geared towards honoring individuals who have achieved significant breakthroughs in innovation and whose pioneering work has resulted in a positive and profound impact on the eCommerce industry in Ghana, it also seeks to ensure the optimum satisfaction of the customers within the space.
According to Paul Asinor, Event Director at OML Africa, one of the key objectives of the event is to promote a world class safety and friendly environment for online shoppers. “We want Ghanaian online shoppers to have the quality they seek. Online shoppers should have the products delivered quickly. Online shoppers should not be victims of cybercrime. Online shoppers should be able to return damaged products by a reliable “Returns Policy” offered by online retailers,” he said.
So far out of the 200 nominations received from over 100 individuals and organizations, online shopping platform mallghana.com leads the pack in terms of number of nominations for the award categories with 11 nominations, followed by online food ordering platform, pizarea.com and rosefabricsgh.com, a leading online fabric store with 8 nominations each.
Continental online commerce and marketplace giant, Jumia Group leading African fashion marketplace, Ahwenepa.com and online retail shop, Africakart.com all have 7 nominations each
Other popular nominees include Tonaton, Zoobashop, Melcomonline, Aramex, DHL, Electromart, Mazzuma, AlexPay, Zeepay, Flutterwave, SynCommerce, MarketExpress, ZongoMart, Skynet Express and other household names in Ghana’s online retail space vying for the bragging rights in a healthy “who-is-who” contest
Some prestigious award categories include “Best Online Retailer of the Year’;” Best Male and Female eCommerce Entrepreneurs of the Year”; “Best e-Government Experience of the Year”; “ Best Multi-Channel Retailer of the Year”; “Best eCommerce Innovation in Payments”; “Best eCommerce Delivery Company of the Year” and many more.
