Francis Wangusi reappointed CAK DG
The Board of the Communications Authority of Kenya has announced the appointment of Francis Wangusi as the Director General for a term of four years, effective 22 August 2015.
The Board said Mr Wangusi, currently the Authority’s DG, emerged as the best candidate among the shortlisted candidates interviewed by the Board. The new appointment was necessitated by the Kenya Information and Communications of 1998, as amended in 2013, which stipulates that the post of Director General be filled competitively. The Board advertised the post in April and re-advertised it in May 2015.
With over 27 years’ experience in the communications industry, Mr Wangusi has served as DG since 2012. Prior to that, he served as Director in the Departments of Broadcasting and Licensing Compliance and Standards.
