Eto’o launches mobile operator
Top-earning footballer Samuel Eto’o will launch his own mobile network in Cameroon this month.
Eto’o, the world’s highest-paid footballer and striker for the Russian team, is set to launch Cameroon’s third mobile operator on January 21.
The network, Set’Mobile, aims to bring affordable mobile voice and data services to the country.
The name is based on the player’s initials. Reports this week said 50 000 SIM cards have already been sold.
It will be the country’s third mobile operator, competing with Orange Telecom and MTN.
