Egypt's Modern technology Co looks to Ghana
Modern Technology Co, specialists in ICTs for the food and agriculture industry, are looking to expand into the rest of Africa, starting with Ghana.
The company, based in Cairo, develops software and IT solutions for the agricultural and food manufacturing sector, including production systems, farming ERP management, management systems for poultry and fish farming and packhouse management systems, among others. Its systems aim to streamline and improve food manufacture processes, improving production, planning, traceability, cost management and profit.
General Manager Ashraf Ismail says while the company has been successfully operational in Egypt since 1999, it is now expanding into the major food production regions of Africa too. “ We have already started operations in Tunis and are looking to expand into Ghana soon,” he says.
Ismail says the company is looking to West and Central Africa, in areas with major food production sectors.
He notes that the company collaborates with the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), and its projects and products are certified by UNIDO.
