Ebenezer Asante to assume CEO role of MTN Ghana

 Ebenezer Twum Asante will officially assume the position of Chief Executive Officer for MTN Ghana, effective 1st July, 2015.

In a statement copied to Biztechafrica in Accra by MTN Corporate Communications, it revealed that Ebenezer Asante returns to Ghana after serving for two years as CEO of MTN Rwanda. Asante joined NTN in 2008 as Sales and Distribution Executive for MTN Ghana. Prior to joining MTN, he spent 13 years with Unilever, where he held various positions, including Managing Director to Zambia and Customer Development Director and a member of the Unilever Ghana Board.

The statement indicated that Mr. Asante holds a BA (Hons) degree in Economics and Statistics from the University of Ghana, a post graduate Diploma in Management from Henley Management College and was part of MTN’s Global Advancement Programme (GAP) in 2010. He also participated in Executive level and General Management development programs at the Ashridge Business School (UK), Harvard and Insead (Paris).

He replaces Serame Taukobong who has left MTN to pursue other interests. Ebenezer Asante is the first Ghanaian to head Ghana’s leading telecommunications company, MTN Ghana.
