International audit firm Deloitte’s Botswana chapter has refurbished ICT equipment worth P12 000.00 for a school in the west of the capital Gaborone. Another ICT based company, Kwese TV presented an award as well.

Speaking at hand over ceremony of the repaired ICT equipment, Cecilia Ramatlapeng, Delliote Botswana Partner said their efforts signify greater intent and passion to empower students with what they need to receive a truly sound education.

“Today’s handover is much more than a donation. It is a small gesture, but one that signifies greater intent and passion to empower students with what they need to receive a truly sound education.

“We believe that the success of a child is the success of a nation. Thus, we are all here to celebrate the victory of Tloaneng Primary School, its teachers, but most importantly, the victory of its students in their excellent PSLE results. Excellence is integral to the identity of Deloitte and it gives us great honour to be associated with an institution that delivers excellence.”

Though the school is yet to be connected to internet, Ramatlapeng is optimistic that resources will be extended to the school.

“Rome was not built in a day, and in the same manner, great things cannot be achieved overnight regardless of the strength any one person or group possesses,” she said.

Ramatlapeng said Deloitte is passionate about supporting initiatives that make a difference in the community.

“Education, and the receipt of a sound education, is a vital part of this, and one to which Deloitte is wholly committed,” Ramatlapeng said.

Still at the same school another ICT oriented organisation, Kwese TV donated P500.00 towards the upcoming prize giving day and a Kwese decoder with 12 month access.

Tloaneng Primary School is a small school, in the in Tloaneng Village west of Botswana’s capital Gaborone.
