Court dismisses MTC challenge
The Windhoek High Court has dismissed a challenge by MTC against an NCC decision forcing it to drop prices.
Telco MTC challenged a decision by the then Namibian Communications Commission last year to implement a price cap on the tariffs cellphone operators charge for calls made from their networks to other cellphone operators’ networks and to fixed-line phones.
Among other things, MTC said it had not been given sufficient warning of the tariff cut.
However, the court has dismissed the application and ordered MTC to pay the legal costs of Telecom Namibia and leo in the matter, and to pay 75% of the NCC’s costs.
