Construction begins on hi-tech Cazenga media centre
Angola’s Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology, José Carvalho da Rocha, has officially launched construction on a high-the ‘mediateque’ in Cazenga.
The structure will occupy an area of 2,600 square meters, and will include outdoor play areas, areas for reading and study, and space for up to three thousand books. The media centre also will include areas for reading magazines and journals, accessing online research and internet with 100 desktop and laptop PCs, audiovisual rooms, film, video games and study rooms and group work areas.
The works will be the responsibility of an Angolan contractor and will run for 13 months.
Minister Carvalho da Rocha said the centre would aim to support the development of the area’s youth and help the rehabilitation of Cazenga, which “has an interesting history."
