Cokodeal.com aims to revive ‘made in Nigeria’
Cokodeal.com, describing itself as Africa’s largest medium for business exposure with a presence in Kenya, South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, Tanzania, Rwanda and Zambia, is aiming to boost Nigerian manufacturers through greater online exposure.
The company says many local manufacturers in Nigeria producing great quality products and have the capacity to meet local demands, but that virtually almost all the products in Nigeria are imported.
“It is high time we start supporting and promoting our own, thereby increasing our nation’s economic capacity. Nigeria has to be producing because it has tremendous resources but rather it is stricken with poor infrastructure to support manufacturing. However, despite all the harsh difficulties, Some dogged and determined local manufacturers have stood to their feet, fighting to remain in the business, while some have given up due to lack of appropriate policies and also enacting them, low capital support and technical knowhow, and very low patronage as most of these products and their manufacturers don’t get to be seen,” says Cokodeal CEO Mike Dola.
He explains that Cokodeal.com is a platform that connects traders. The website is designed to allow individuals, businesses and corporate bodies to create and personally manage online stores. They can easily upload images, texts, and videos of their goods and services which they can also edit at will, the same way users edit their facebook profiles. Interested buyers can then find and contact these businesses.
Cokodeal.com has thousands of products uploaded from different businesses, wholesalers, retailers, manufacturers and business people.
