Cell C loses CEO
CEO Lars Reicheldt has resigned suddenly from the board of South Africa’s Cell C.
The move was announced during a difficult week for Cell C, as immigration officers also cracked down on the Chinese employees of its network partner, ZTE.
Several people were arrested on immigration-related charges.
Earlier, Reichelt announced that he was resigning for personal reasons and, after discussions about the way forward, the board agreed to accept his resignation.
Simon Duffy, chairman of the company, will serve as acting CEO until a successor is appointed.
