Cameroon welcomes Chinese help in digital migration
Cameroon’s Government says it would welcome the assistance of Chinese firms in the country’s digital broadcasting migration.
The Director of International Cooperation in the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television in China (SARFT), Ma Li was at the head of a Chinese delegation who met Prime Minister Philemon Yang.
Ma Li disclosed that the People’s Republic of China was ready to assist Cameroon in the switch over to digital broadcasting. "We discussed how we can strengthen cooperation in the media to promote economic and social development,” she said.
SARFT is an executive branch under the State Council of the People’s Republic of China. Its main task is the administration and supervision of state-owned enterprises engaged in the television, radio and film industries.
She disclosed that the Prime Minister Philemon Yang equally expressed the delight and readiness of the Cameroon Government to work with companies from China to achieve the digital switch over in the country.
