Cameroon operators to pay new tax
Cameroon’s telecoms operators will now be charged a 3% tax on their annual revenues.
In line with a Presidential decree this week, the tax, up on a previous 2% tax on revenues, feeds a government fund for telecoms reform.
The fund is intended to expand telecoms services to under served rural areas.
The special telecommunications fund, code-named, "Le Fonds" is run under the auspices of the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications.
