BotswanaPost has new CEO

Cornelius Ramatlhakwane has been duly apointed as the incoming Chief Executive Officer at BotswanaPost. A career ‘postman,’ Ramatlhakwane will be CEO of the BotswanaPost effective the 1st of October 2015. In a statement in the hands of Biztechafrica, Lebogand Bok, Head of Strategy and Communication, said the appointment of Ramatlhakwane has been with the blessing of the entity’s Board of Directors. The Chief Executive Officer designate has been with the Post since 2009, as Head of Business Development overseeing BotswanaPost transition into e-commerce sphere in pursuance of the Icon of Excellence strategy.
“CR, as Ramatlhakwane is known in the Post, has over 20 years of experience in the banking, financial and postal services sector covering diverse areas such as business development, Customer Service, Credit, Risk Management, Sales and Marketing,” said Bok.
He started his career with Deloitte and Touche, Cresta Hospitality Group and Standard Chartered Bank before joining BotswanaPost at Executive Management Level responsible for commercial strategy, business development, and product development.
The new CEO holds a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Strategic Management from the University of Derby – United Kingdom, as well Executive Development Programmes from University of Stellenbosch Business School – South Africa, and Management College of South Africa and other substantial training courses and programmes in personal development, mentorship and motivation. He is married has two children, and he is an avid amateur golfer.
Ramatlhakwane takes over from Pele Moleta who has been with the organisation for almost nine years. Moleta has joined the Barclays group as Chief Operations Officer. In an earlier interview with biztechafrica prior to his secondment, the new CEO said he believed in a BotswanaPost that exudes all the traits of technology in all the entity’s departments.
