Angolan census pilot gets underway
Angolan Vice-President Manuel Domingos Vicente has launched the 15-day pilot census ahead of the republic’s first national census in over 40 years.
The Vice President became the first to receive enumerators, as the project got underway this week.
He urged all citizens to participate in the process.
The Pilot Census 2013 will be staged seven of the 18 provinces (Namibe, Kubango, Huambo, Cunene, Luanda, Kwanza Norte and Uige), and serves as a rehearsal for the national census in May 2014.
Meanwhile, the deputy governor for social and political affairs in central Huambo province,Guilherme Tuluka, called on enumerators to use simple language when visiting households for the census. He urged them to demystify technical language.
