Angola takes science and technology roadshow to schools
Angola’s Minister of Science and Technology has hailed a programme carried out this year to increase school learners’ understanding of science, technology and innovation.
Minister Maria Candida Teixeira said at the close of the project, entitled "A Journey into the World of Science, Technology and Innovation", that the programme had toured the 18 provinces of Angola, reaching 116 000 young people, teachers, parents and guardians of education throughout the country.
The programme was designed to encourage Angolan children to consider careers in science and technology.
She said Angola was committed to the development of science and technology skills among its youth.
The project results were presented with the participation of Ministers of Education, Mpinda Simon, and Telecommunications and Information Technologies, José Carvalho da Rocha.
