Angola looks to green technologies
The Angolan Ministry of Environment Affairs has developed a Strategic Plan for Environmental Technologies, which it will submit to the Council of Ministers.
Minister Fátima Jardim told a conference on renewable energy that the primary objective of the plan is to develop initiatives that promote the use of sustainable and environmentally friendly technologies.
The plan aims to contribute to the sustainable development of strategic areas such as urban development and construction, agriculture, energy and water, oil, geology, mining and transportation.
The Minister said the plan was in line with policies that favour the use of clean and renewable energy sources such as biofuels, natural gas, biodiesel, and wind and solar.
“We are working to improve human development indicators and ensure rising living standards of citizens, as well as environmental preservation," he said.
