Upgrade for Togo Cellulaire network
Alcatel-Lucent has been contracted to upgrade the 2G and 3G wireless networks of Togo Cellulaire.
The deal is part of the multimillion Euro wireless broadband network transformation deal awarded last year by Alcatel-Lucent to extend Togo Cellulaire’ s GSM network capacity and to build the first 3G network in the country.
The upgraded network will allow the operator to offer advanced mobile services and to meet growing demands for bandwidth in the country.
Alcatel-Lucent says it will be the sole supplier transforming Togo Cellulaire network with its end-to-end solution that will significantly boost the operator GSM/EDGE (2.5G) network capacity and coverage and raise its 3G network to HPSA+ (3.75G) wireless capability, as well as provide new microwaves links to address the growing demand for advanced mobile high broadband services through an all-IP broadband network.
